CAN Federation Spearheads Dialogue to Refine Nepal’s E-commerce Landscape

In a significant move to align the IT industry with emerging legal frameworks, the Computer Association of Nepal (CAN) Federation is hosting a high-level “Multistakeholder Consultation and IT Industry Feedback Session” today. The session focuses on the newly enacted E-commerce Act 2081.

The event, scheduled from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the CAN Federation Secretariat, aims to create a unified industry voice. According to Chiranjibi Adhikari, Policy Coordinator and Senior Vice President (SVP) of CAN Federation, the consultation is vital for gathering diverse perspectives from industry leaders to ensure that the implementation of the Act supports innovation rather than hindering it.

Key stakeholders, tech entrepreneurs, and legal experts are participating to discuss policy nuances and provide constructive feedback. The insights gathered today are expected to form the basis of a collective industry position, which will be shared with government bodies for effective policy dialogue.
