PM Oli Opens 17th NADA Auto Show 2025, Pledges Strong Support for Auto Industry

Nepal’s largest automobile exhibition, the 17th NADA Auto Show 2025, officially commenced today at Bhrikutimandap, Kathmandu, with Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli inaugurating the event.

Addressing the gathering, PM Oli underlined the growing role of the automobile industry in boosting Nepal’s economy. He assured that the government will prioritize industry-friendly reforms, policy improvements, and long-term strategies to foster sustainable growth in the auto sector.

Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel, attending as the special guest, highlighted the government’s commitment to promoting eco-friendly mobility and encouraging the adoption of advanced technologies, especially electric vehicles (EVs).

Industry’s Call for Reform
Speaking at the ceremony, NADA Automobiles Association of Nepal President Karan Chaudhary urged the government to revise existing taxation policies and introduce regulations that would benefit both consumers and businesses. He stressed that the automobile sector is not limited to vehicle sales but also plays a vital role in employment generation, trade facilitation, and national revenue.

This year’s expo prominently features electric vehicles, reflecting the rising consumer interest and Nepal’s shift towards cleaner and greener transportation solutions. NADA reaffirmed its dedication to expanding the EV market, aligning with the nation’s environmental goals.
