Widespread Arson Hits Auto Showrooms Amid Gen Z Protests

Amid the Gen Z  protests, demonstrators across the country have set fire to and vandalized several key structures, including the Federal Parliament, Singh Durbar, courts, and some private banks and financial companies. Many buildings have been completely reduced to ashes.

Auto showrooms, particularly in major areas like Thapathali, Kathmandu, have faced severe damage. Demonstrators targeted showrooms of major brands including Mahindra, Suzuki, Hyundai, Tata, and CG, setting fire to vehicles and causing extensive destruction.

Most showrooms suffered total loss, with vehicles and equipment completely destroyed. The estimated damage runs into millions of rupees, though precise figures are not yet available.

Other auto companies across the city also reported arson and vandalism. Security personnel, government employees, and business owners have all been impacted by the unrest. Auto businesses are currently assessing the full scale of losses individually, but confirm that widespread fire and property destruction occurred across multiple showrooms.
