The Merchant Banking Association Nepal (MBAN) successfully held its 16th Annual General Meeting on Ashoj 2 at the Aloft Hotel in Kathmandu. Originally planned in Pokhara, the event was relocated to the capital considering the current national circumstances to ensure the safety and participation of all members.
Representatives from all member merchant banking institutions attended the meeting, which reviewed MBAN’s activities and achievements for the fiscal year 2081/82 and approved the annual programs and budget for 2082/83. The association reaffirmed its commitment to promoting professionalism and sustainable growth in Nepal’s merchant banking sector.
Discussions at the meeting focused on current challenges, emerging issues, and future strategic plans for the country’s merchant banking industry. Amendments to the association’s name and other necessary revisions were also approved. Additionally, policy matters aimed at strengthening the role of merchant banks in the capital market were deliberated.
MBAN emphasized its dedication to fostering a robust and sustainable merchant banking sector while supporting Nepal’s broader financial development goals.
