Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has temporarily increased the daily transaction limit for mobile wallets, aiming to facilitate payments during the upcoming Dashain and Tihar festivals.
Under the new directive, individuals can now conduct up to 40 transactions per day through mobile wallets, up from the previous limit of 10 transactions. This change applies to wallets operated by licensed payment service providers across the country.
The revised transaction limit will be in effect from Asoj 13 (Phulpati) until the full moon day of Dashain. NRB has stated that the move is intended to make digital Dashain payments more convenient for users during the festive season.
This temporary increase is expected to ease the flow of digital payments for sending Dashain gifts, making purchases, and other festival-related transactions.
