Nepal’s leading digital payment service eSewa and prominent non-life insurance company Shikhar Insurance Company Limited have jointly launched a new health insurance plan, ‘Sahara Health Insurance’.
The plan is available for citizens aged 5 to 65 years, offering coverage options of NPR 200,000, 300,000, and 600,000, with premiums starting from NPR 1,399.
Under Sahara Health Insurance, policyholders will receive coverage for hospitalization, emergency care, surgeries, medications, lab tests, and accident treatments. The plan offers cashless treatment at 26 network hospitals across Nepal under Shikhar Insurance, while other approved hospitals provide reimbursement after treatment.
The plan is designed to ensure access to healthcare without financial stress during emergencies. Additionally, it includes one-time free telehealth consultation, making it easier for policyholders to seek medical advice.
At the launch event, eSewa CEO Jagdish Khadka stated, “Sahara Health Insurance will write a new chapter in the digitalization of the insurance sector, making health coverage more accessible and convenient for everyone.”
