Prime Minister Narendra Modi hailed the NDA’s massive victory in the Bihar Assembly elections, declaring it a mandate for “genuine social justice,” rooted in equality, respect and opportunity for every family. He said India is moving away from “appeasement politics” toward a model based on “universal satisfaction.”

Celebrations erupted at the BJP headquarters as the Election Commission confirmed an NDA landslide—202 seats, far above the majority mark of 122. The BJP won 89, JDU 85, LJP (RV) 19, RLM 4 and HAM 5. The Mahagathbandhan was reduced to 33 seats.

Waving a traditional gamcha, Modi began with “Jai Chhathi Maiya,” praising Bihar’s voters for their historic decision. He highlighted a new positive “MY formula”—Mahila (women) and Youth, countering the old MY (Muslim–Yadav) politics he attributed to the RJD.

Modi said the “Katta Sarkar”—a reference to RJD’s alleged gun-rule—would “never return to Bihar.” He sharply criticised the Congress, calling it “MMC — Muslim League Maoist Congress,” and suggested the party may face another major split due to internal tension.

Accusing the opposition of disrespecting Bihar’s cultural traditions, Modi pointed to Rahul Gandhi’s remarks on Chhath Puja and said Bihar would “never forget” it. He reaffirmed efforts to include Chhath in the UNESCO Heritage list.

Modi called the 67.13% voter turnout—highest since 1951—a milestone, noting the peaceful, repoll-free election in a state once affected by Maoist violence.

He asserted that the NDA’s victory marks the beginning of Bihar’s “golden 25 years,” promising growth in industries, investment, jobs and tourism. Modi ended by thanking voters and recalling that 2025 marks 150 years of “Vande Mataram.”
