Result-Oriented Policies to Build a Self-Reliant and Prosperous Nepal: Rajendra Malla

Rajendra Malla has emphasized that Nepal’s sustainable prosperity requires policies that deliver tangible results, rather than slogans. He outlined a multi-sectoral strategy to make Nepal self-reliant, production-oriented, and capable of generating employment through agriculture, hydropower, tourism, forestry, IT/AI, and strategic use of remittances.

According to Malla, idle farmland will be utilized through collaboration between local governments, cooperatives, and the private sector to boost agricultural production and achieve food self-sufficiency. Unnecessary barriers to hydropower generation will be removed to meet domestic demand and enable exports to India, China, and other international markets.

To attract high-quality international tourists from India, China, and other countries, Mall stressed the need to diversify infrastructure, services, and tourist destinations. Additionally, community forests will be leveraged for commercial cultivation, processing, and export of herbs and forest products.

Malla also highlighted plans for legal industrial cannabis cultivation, focusing on producing essential oils and fiber/textiles for export to international markets. Expanding IT and AI education to every village will empower youth to provide services and export products to the global market.

At least 10% of remittances will be invested under a PPP model into hydropower, infrastructure, and IT/AI data centers to promote self-reliance, productivity, and employment.

“These initiatives will lay the foundation for a self-sufficient, production-oriented, and employment-driven advanced Nepal,” said Rajendra Malla.
