Hansraj Hulaschand & Company, the official distributor of Triumph Motorcycles in Nepal, has announced the second price increase for the popular Triumph Scrambler 400X, bringing its new price to Rs 7,14,900.
The bike’s original introductory price was Rs 6,89,900. The first price revision added Rs 10,000, raising it to Rs 6,99,900. The latest increase of Rs 15,000 reflects a consistent upward trend in the pricing of premium motorcycle imports in Nepal.
The Scrambler 400X is powered by a 398.15cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine, producing 39.5 bhp and 37.5 Nm of torque. A 6-speed gearbox with slip-and-assist clutch ensures smooth shifting. Premium components include a 43mm USD Big Piston front fork, gas monoshock rear suspension with 150mm wheel travel, and a hybrid spine/perimeter tubular steel frame. Safety features include Bosch dual-channel ABS and switchable traction control.
The bike’s classic scrambler styling with a high-mounted exhaust and 19-inch front wheel enhances both its design and off-road capability, making it suitable for varied Nepali road conditions.
The new price positions the Scrambler 400X in direct competition with the KTM 390 Adventure and Royal Enfield Himalayan 450. While the KTM focuses on off-road performance and the Himalayan on long-distance touring, the Scrambler 400X emphasizes British styling and premium build quality.
The repeated price hikes may challenge the loyalty of potential buyers, prompting them to assess the bike’s feature-to-price ratio more critically. Triumph Nepal continues to support its premium pricing through new showrooms and robust after-sales service.
For enthusiasts who value heritage, design, city agility, and light off-road capability, the Scrambler 400X remains an attractive choice. However, at Rs 7,14,900, buyers must carefully evaluate whether the bike’s style, performance, and brand value justify the higher cost.
