Kathmandu, Nepal, October 11, 2026 — Himalayan Motrox Pvt. Ltd., the official importer and distributor of MAXUS vehicles in Nepal under the Himalayan Organisation, has launched the MAXUS eDELIVER5, a premium 16-seater electric minibus, in the Nepali market. The vehicle has been priced at NPR 6.95 million (Rs. 69.5 lakh).
The minibus was unveiled at a special event in Kathmandu. It is primarily targeted at hotels, resorts, tourism and hospitality businesses, as well as commercial passenger transport operators seeking modern and environmentally friendly transportation solutions.
The vehicle was jointly launched by Dhruv Thapa, Chairman of Himalayan Organisation; Aakash Golchha, Director; and Saurabh Thapa, Managing Director. Kapil Siwakoti, Chief Executive Officer of the organisation, was also present at the event.
Up to 400 Kilometres of Range on a Single Charge
The MAXUS eDELIVER5 is equipped with a 64 kWh CATL battery. According to the company, the vehicle offers a driving range of up to 400 kilometres on a single charge under the New European Driving Cycle (NEDC) testing standard.
The electric minibus delivers a maximum output of 120 kW and torque of 240 Nm. It also supports DC fast charging of up to 70 kW, allowing the battery to charge from 20 per cent to 80 per cent in approximately 36 minutes, according to the company.
Advanced Infotainment and Safety Features
The minibus features a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system supporting Bluetooth, USB, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Other convenience features include a four-way adjustable steering wheel, a modern cockpit and steering-mounted controls designed to enhance the driving experience.
In terms of safety, the vehicle comes equipped with a 360-degree surround-view camera, Automatic Emergency Braking, Forward Collision Warning, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keep Assist, Emergency Lane Keeping and Driver State Monitoring.
Additional safety features include airbags for the driver and front passenger, Electronic Stability Control and a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System. The vehicle also offers 200 mm of ground clearance and alloy wheels.
Eight-Year Battery Warranty
To strengthen customer confidence in electric commercial vehicles, the company is offering an eight-year warranty on the battery and a five-year warranty on the motor, according to its product information.
MAXUS vehicles are manufactured in China under the globally recognised SAIC Group. Himalayan Motrox claims that the eDELIVER5 offers a competitive price alongside a comprehensive range of premium features compared with other vehicles in its segment.
New Opportunities for Tourism and Public Transport
The launch of the MAXUS eDELIVER5 is expected to create new opportunities for the adoption of electric vehicles in Nepal’s tourism, hospitality and commercial passenger transport sectors.
With its 16-seat capacity, the minibus could serve as a practical option for hotels and resorts transporting guests, as well as businesses operating passenger transport services. It also offers an alternative for operators looking to adopt electric mobility and reduce dependence on conventional fuel-powered vehicles.
Himalayan Motrox had previously introduced the MAXUS eTerron9 electric pickup to the Nepali market. According to the company, the pickup has also been gaining popularity among local customers.
