Kamana Sewa Bikas Bank Supports Financial Literacy for Women Doctors

Kathmandu: A financial literacy program for women doctors has been successfully conducted by the Nepal Medical Association (NMA) in collaboration with Kamana Sewa Bikas Bank. More than 60 women doctors associated with the association participated in the program.

The initiative aimed to strengthen participants’ knowledge and skills in financial management, budgeting, savings, investment, and tax management. Through presentations, interactive discussions, and practical guidance, the program provided information to help participants make informed financial decisions and develop effective personal financial plans.

Practical Lessons on Budgeting, Investment, and Financial Security

The program was held under the chairmanship of Dr. Badri Rizal, President of the Nepal Medical Association. At the beginning of the event, Dr. Sujita Hirachan highlighted the need and importance of financial management, budget planning, and tax management for medical professionals.

Financial literacy sessions were facilitated by Chartered Accountant Anupama Sangraula, along with Jinusa Palikhe Shrestha, Head of the Digital Operations Department at Kamana Sewa Bikas Bank, and Surya Kant Neupane, Credit Officer at the bank.

The facilitators provided practical information on personal financial planning, budget preparation, savings, investment options, tax management, and long-term financial security. The sessions were designed to help participating doctors manage their income more effectively and make informed decisions about their financial futures.

Emphasis on Personal and Family Financial Well-Being

Addressing the program, NMA President Dr. Badri Rizal emphasized that doctors should give financial management equal importance alongside their professional responsibilities.

He noted that financial knowledge and systematic planning are essential for maintaining personal and family financial security while managing the demands of a professional career.

Dr. Rizal also thanked Kamana Sewa Bikas Bank and all other stakeholders for their support in making the program successful.

Program Coordinator Dr. Nisha Acharya highlighted the importance of financial literacy for women doctors. She stated that initiatives of this kind can help improve their financial decision-making abilities and strengthen their capacity to manage income and plan for the future.

Medical Association Representatives Attend the Program

The event was attended by former NMA President Dr. Lochan Karki as a special guest. Dr. Yubin Yadav, a member of the Nepal Medical Council, and Dr. Bina Shrestha, an executive member of the Nepal Medical Association, also participated as guests.

The program was designed to support the professional development of women doctors while strengthening their economic empowerment and financial awareness.

Kamana Sewa Bikas Bank believes that the initiative will help participants improve income management, prepare for future financial needs, and make more informed economic decisions.
