Kathmandu, October 15, 2026 — Upakar Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited has appointed its Assistant General Manager, Bimal Khanal, as Acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective from Kartik 2, 2083 (October 19, 2026).
The decision was made during the microfinance institution’s 114th meeting of the Board of Directors held on Ashwin 28, 2083 (October 14, 2026). The board finalized Khanal’s designation to ensure the continuation of executive leadership and institutional operations.
Board Approves Acting CEO Appointment
According to the board’s decision, Khanal will assume the responsibilities of Acting CEO from Kartik 2, 2083. He currently serves as the Assistant General Manager of the institution.
The appointment follows a formal board resolution and establishes an interim leadership arrangement for the microfinance institution. Khanal will oversee the responsibilities associated with the chief executive position during his tenure as Acting CEO.
Interim Leadership Until Further Decision
Khanal will continue in the acting leadership role until the institution makes further arrangements or finalizes a permanent appointment. The duration of his tenure will therefore depend on the institution’s subsequent decisions regarding its executive leadership.
