Kathmandu, October 15, 2026 — NRN Infrastructure and Development Limited has decided in principle to invest NPR 1.29975 billion across three companies, strengthening its investment portfolio in Nepal’s hydropower and manufacturing sectors.
The strategic investment decision was approved at a meeting of the company’s Board of Directors held on Ashwin 27, 2083 (October 13, 2026). The proposed investments cover two hydropower projects and one industrial enterprise, with the largest allocation directed toward the 70-megawatt Dudhkoshi-2 Hydropower Project.
NPR 1 Billion Investment in Dudhkoshi-2
NRN Infrastructure has decided in principle to invest NPR 1 billion in Dudhkoshi Hydropower Nepal Limited, which is developing the 70 MW Dudhkoshi-2 Hydropower Project in Solukhumbu District.
Under the proposed investment, the company will purchase 10 million equity shares at a face value of NPR 100 per share. This represents the largest portion of NRN Infrastructure’s total investment commitment.
The investment is expected to strengthen the project’s equity base as the hydropower development company advances its business objectives.
NPR 200 Million for Chhujung Khola Hydropower
The company has also decided to invest NPR 200 million in Sanigard Urja Limited, the promoter of the 63 MW Chhujung Khola Hydropower Project.
The proposed investment will be made through the acquisition of 2 million equity shares. This allocation forms the second-largest component of NRN Infrastructure’s planned investment portfolio.
Through its participation in the project, the company is extending its investment exposure to another hydropower development venture.
NPR 99.75 Million Investment in Cable Manufacturing
In addition to hydropower, NRN Infrastructure has committed NPR 99.75 million to Annapurna Rathi Cables Industries Limited, a manufacturing enterprise based in Morang District.
The company plans to purchase 285,000 equity shares in the industrial enterprise. The investment will diversify its portfolio beyond the energy sector and into manufacturing.
Total Investment Reaches NPR 1.29975 Billion
The three proposed investments amount to a combined NPR 1.29975 billion, comprising NPR 1 billion for Dudhkoshi Hydropower Nepal Limited, NPR 200 million for Sanigard Urja Limited, and NPR 99.75 million for Annapurna Rathi Cables Industries Limited.
The decision reflects NRN Infrastructure and Development Limited’s plan to expand its investment portfolio across hydropower development and industrial production.
As the board’s decision is described as a principle approval, the proposed investments should be distinguished from completed share purchases. The investments will proceed in accordance with the company’s applicable procedures and the relevant requirements for each transaction.
