Kathmandu: Pakistani Ambassador to Nepal Mohammad Amir Khan and representatives of Startup Summit Nepal–2026 held a meeting and discussion today at the Embassy of Pakistan in Maharajgunj. The meeting focused on creating new opportunities for the youth of both countries by connecting Nepal–Pakistan friendship with youth entrepreneurship, knowledge, skills, and collaboration.
During the meeting, Ambassador Khan described Nepal as one of the most beautiful countries in the world in terms of its natural and geographical diversity and praised the warmth, simplicity, and cooperative nature of the Nepali people. He emphasized the need to create an environment where the capabilities and potential of Nepali youth can be utilized within their own country and expressed his commitment to provide all possible support to Startup Summit Nepal–2026 from his side.
Ambassador Khan said that he and Pakistan could also cooperate in initiatives aimed at encouraging Nepali youth to seek their future within Nepal. He said, “You prepare for the program and move forward. I am ready to provide the necessary support for cooperation and exchange of experiences between Nepali and Pakistani youth.”
He also sought information about the situation of Nepali youth, the country’s current business environment, and the prospects for entrepreneurship. He expressed a positive view of the fact that although many Nepali youths go abroad for education and employment, some of them return to Nepal with their knowledge, skills, and experience and are working in various sectors.
Ambassador Khan said that Nepalis are hardworking, simple, and honest people, and emphasized that significant progress in all sectors of Nepal is possible through continuous hard work and positive thinking. He particularly stressed that young people should utilize their knowledge, skills, and creativity in the development of their country.
During the meeting, Chairperson of Startup Summit Nepal–2026, Shobha Gyawali, briefed the ambassador about the committee’s objectives and upcoming plans. She said that the committee is focused on encouraging educated, skilled, and hardworking Nepali youth to seek opportunities within their own country. Referring to her experience of working with various social and professional organizations, she emphasized the need to create an environment where the knowledge and skills of young people can be utilized in Nepal.
Gyawali said that Startup Summit Nepal–2026 is moving forward with the core spirit of “Let’s Use Our Knowledge and Skills in Our Own Country.” She clarified that the campaign has been initiated not for any personal interest but with the objective of connecting young people with opportunities, entrepreneurship, and self-reliance, and called upon all sectors and organizations working in Nepal to collaborate with the initiative.
Chairperson Gyawali said that connecting the long-standing cordial and friendly relations between Nepal and Pakistan with cooperation between the new generation could make the relationship between the two countries even more meaningful. She said there is significant potential for cooperation, particularly in youth entrepreneurship, technology, education, skills, and the exchange of business experiences.
During the meeting, Ambassador Khan expressed a positive view of the Startup Summit Nepal–2026 initiative and said that efforts to inspire Nepali youth to create opportunities within their own country are important. He reiterated his positive stance toward taking necessary initiatives for cooperation and exchange of experiences between Nepali and Pakistani youth.
Representatives of the Embassy of Pakistan were present at the meeting along with Chairperson of Startup Summit Nepal–2026 Shobha Gyawali, Keynote Speaker of the Committee Engineer Umesh Kumar Gupta, and Directors Basudev Neupane and Narayan Prasad Oli.
