Kathmandu. Employees of Agriculture Development Bank Limited (ADBL) have contributed NPR 15,395,022 from their salaries and allowances to the Prime Minister Disaster Relief Fund to support citizens affected by the devastating floods in the Bhote Koshi River.
The contribution was voluntarily collected from the salaries and allowances of ADBL employees, with participation ranging from the bank’s top management and departmental heads to support-level staff. The funds will support the rescue, relief, and rehabilitation of people affected by the floods.
Cheque Handed Over to Finance Minister
The cheque representing the employee contribution was formally handed over by Tanka Prasad Pandey, Chairman of ADBL’s Board of Directors, and Pratap Subedi, Acting Chief Executive Officer of the bank, to Swarnim Wagle, Minister for Finance of the Government of Nepal.
The handover ceremony was attended by Sushil Humagain, Deputy General Manager; Bina Sharma, Head of the Marketing and Sales Department; and Ajay Rimal, Head of the Human Resource Management Department.
ADBL Continues Humanitarian Support
The employee-led contribution comes in addition to ADBL’s earlier support for disaster relief. The bank had already contributed NPR 30 million to the Prime Minister Disaster Relief Fund through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Fund.
ADBL has also directly distributed food and relief materials worth NPR 1 million to families affected by the floods.
Through both institutional support and voluntary contributions from its employees, ADBL said it continues to support communities affected by the natural disaster and contribute to rescue, relief, and rehabilitation efforts.
