Sun Nepal Life Brings New Smart Protection Plan

Kathmandu. Sun Nepal Life Insurance Company Limited has launched the “Sun Smart Protection Insurance Plan” on the occasion of its ninth anniversary, aiming to strengthen financial protection for individuals and their families.

The new insurance product was formally inaugurated on Ashoj 1 by Chief Executive Officer Raj Kumar Aryal in the presence of senior management officials during a dedicated product inauguration ceremony.

The insurance plan has been designed to provide substantial financial protection at an affordable cost to individuals between 18 and 65 years of age. The product is particularly aimed at individuals who carry professional and family financial responsibilities.

Under the scheme, policyholders can choose a minimum sum assured of NPR 1 million, equivalent to Rs 10 lakh. The maximum sum assured will be determined based on the income source of the applicant.

The company has also introduced flexible premium payment options under the plan. Customers can pay premiums on a monthly, quarterly, semi-annual or annual basis according to their convenience.

The plan provides a death benefit equivalent to 100 percent of the total sum assured. In the event of the insured person’s death, the full sum assured will be paid to the designated beneficiaries according to the policy terms.

The insurance plan also comes with optional additional benefits. Policyholders can opt for funeral expense coverage of up to NPR 50,000. Similarly, the plan offers optional “Sun Medicare” emergency health service coverage of up to NPR 100,000.

Sun Nepal Life has also emphasized digital accessibility for the new insurance product. Customers can purchase the policy by visiting the company’s branch offices or through the company’s website, www.sunlife.com.np, and the Sun Connect application.

Sun Nepal Life Insurance was registered on 2074/06/06 BS. The company, which has been operating as a digital-focused life insurer, is ISO 27001:2022 certified.

The company has an authorized capital of NPR 10 billion and a paid-up capital of NPR 5.28 billion.

Through the new insurance plan, the company aims to expand access to financial protection while providing customers with flexible payment options and additional protection benefits.
