Dipchandra Regmi Promoted to Global IME Bank DCEO

Kathmandu: Global IME Bank Limited has promoted Dipchandra Regmi to the position of Deputy Chief Executive Officer (DCEO).

The bank’s Board of Directors meeting held on Tuesday decided to promote Regmi to the senior executive position. He was previously serving as the bank’s Assistant Chief Executive Officer.

Banking Career Began at Standard Chartered

Regmi began his banking career with Standard Chartered Bank Nepal in 2007. He joined Global IME Bank in 2009 and has since held several key responsibilities within the institution.

During his tenure at Global IME Bank, Regmi has served in multiple senior roles, including Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), Chief Lending Officer (CLO), and Head of Trade Finance.

He also serves as the Chairperson of the Board of Directors of Global IME Capital Limited, a subsidiary of Global IME Bank.

MBA From Institutions in Thailand and Denmark

Regmi holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thailand, and Copenhagen Business School, Denmark.

His extensive experience across financial management, human resources, lending, trade finance, and other banking functions has contributed to his professional career at Global IME Bank.

Global IME Bank’s National and International Recognition

Global IME Bank has stated that it has received several national and international recognitions for its work in modern technology, banking services, and customer service.

According to the bank, it was recognized as ‘Best Bank Nepal’ consecutively in 2024, 2025, and 2026.

The bank has also received recognition under the Euromoney Awards for Excellence in 2022, 2024, and 2025.

Presence Across All 77 Districts

Global IME Bank claims to be the first private-sector commercial bank in Nepal to establish a branch presence across all 77 districts of the country.

According to the bank, its current network includes 341 branches, 366 ATMs, 147 branchless banking centers, and 69 extension and revenue collection counters.

The bank also operates three representative offices outside Nepal.

Remittance From Multiple Countries

Global IME Bank has been bringing remittances into Nepal through formal channels from countries including the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Malaysia, South Korea, Japan, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, and India.

The bank has positioned itself as one of Nepal’s major financial institutions for bringing remittances into the country through formal and legal channels.

Through its remittance network, Global IME Bank says it has been facilitating the inflow of funds from Nepalis and other sources abroad through the formal financial system, contributing to the national economy.
