Asian Battery Sees 20% Growth Amid EV Boom in Nepal

Riding the surge in demand for electric vehicles, Asian Battery Company has reported a remarkable improvement in its business performance. The company achieved a 20.11% increase in revenue over the past year.

Established in 2012, Asian Battery recorded a total business turnover of NPR 62.10 crore by the end of 2025, compared to NPR 51.70 crore in 2024. In 2023, the company’s turnover stood at NPR 43 crore, while in 2022 it was NPR 22.50 crore. This indicates an average annual growth rate of 29% from 2021 to 2025. Within just five years, the company’s business has nearly tripled.

Profitability has also improved steadily. In the most recent fiscal year, the company posted a net profit margin of 3.39%, up from 2.32% the previous year.

Based in Biratnagar, Asian Battery produces batteries for electric vehicles, automotive applications, and tubular batteries. With an annual production capacity of 54 metric tons, the company sources approximately 70% of its raw materials domestically, helping reduce production costs and enhance efficiency.

Industry analysts note that Asian Battery’s growth reflects the increasing confidence of Nepali consumers in locally produced EV batteries and signals a promising future for the country’s electric mobility sector.
