Kathmandu: National Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited has appointed Kshitij Khadka as the new Chairman of its Board of Directors, filling the leadership vacancy created by the departure of former Chairman Rabin Sijapati.

The appointment was made unanimously at the institution’s 212th Board of Directors meeting held on Bhadra 29, 2083.

Khadka, who was already serving as a member of the Board of Directors, was selected to lead the board following Sijapati’s resignation.

Sijapati had represented Nepal Investment Mega Bank Limited on the Board of National Laghubitta and had served as its chairman.

According to the information provided, Sijapati stepped down after being appointed Chief Executive Officer of another financial institution. His departure from Nepal Investment Mega Bank Limited resulted in the vacancy of both his directorship and chairmanship at National Laghubitta.

Rather than bringing in an external candidate, the board selected Khadka from among its existing directors.

The move is expected to provide continuity in corporate governance and institutional leadership, allowing the microfinance institution to maintain its existing strategic direction while avoiding disruption at the board level.

As chairman, Khadka will lead board proceedings and play a key role in overseeing the institution’s strategic decisions and corporate governance.

With Khadka’s appointment, National Laghubitta has completed the process of filling the vacant chairmanship.
