Kamana Sewa Unveils New Interest Rates, Savings Up to 4%

Kathmandu. Kamana Sewa Bikas Bank Limited has published its new interest rate structure, effective from 1st Ashwin 2083, corresponding to 17 September 2026. The new structure covers savings accounts, fixed deposits, recurring deposits, floating-rate loans, fixed-rate personal term loans and other banking conditions.

According to the bank, savings interest rates range from 1.375 percent to 4 percent per annum, while individual fixed deposits carry interest rates of up to 4.28 percent per annum.

Savings Interest Rates

The bank has fixed an annual interest rate of 2.75 percent for its Normal Savings Account, Kamana Sewa Pragati Bachat Khata (Silver), Sabal Nari Bachat Khata, Salary Savings Account, Shareholder Savings Account, Bal Bachat Khata, Samajik Surakchhya Savings Account, Swabhiman Savings Account, Provident Fund Savings Account and other savings accounts.

Interest on these accounts will be paid quarterly.

Kamana Sewa Pragati Bachat Khata (Gold), Timrai Lagi Savings Account, Kamana Sewa Pragati Bachat Khata (Platinum) and Bishista Bachat Khata offer an annual interest rate of 2.80 percent, with quarterly interest payments.

The KS PMS Savings Account provides 2.90 percent per annum, while AlphaGrow Savings Account and Staff Savings Account provide 3 percent per annum. Interest on these accounts will also be paid quarterly.

Foreign Employment Savings Account and Remittance Savings Account offer the highest savings rate of 4 percent per annum, with interest paid quarterly.

The Call Account provides up to 1.375 percent annual interest, payable quarterly.

Individual Fixed Deposits

For individual fixed deposits, deposits for a period of three months and below six months carry an annual interest rate of 2.75 percent.

Deposits for six months and below one year also carry 2.75 percent. Similarly, deposits for one year and below two years carry 2.75 percent per annum.

Deposits for two years and below three years offer 3 percent per annum. For deposits of three years and below four years, the interest rate is 3.15 percent. The same 3.15 percent rate applies to deposits of four years and below five years.

Individual fixed deposits of five years and above offer the highest rate of 4.28 percent per annum. Under the Timrai Lagi fixed deposit scheme, the six-month deposit offers 2.75 percent per annum, while deposits of one year and above also offer 2.75 percent.

Interest on individual fixed deposits can be paid monthly, quarterly or at maturity.

Institutional Fixed Deposits

For institutional fixed deposits, deposits of one year and below two years carry an annual interest rate of 2.75 percent. Deposits of two years and up to three years also offer 2.75 percent per annum.

Institutional fixed deposits of more than three years offer 3.35 percent per annum. Interest on institutional fixed deposits will be paid quarterly or at maturity.

Recurring Deposits

The bank has fixed the interest rate for recurring deposits at 2.75 percent per annum. Interest will be paid quarterly.

Floating Interest Rate Loans

The interest rate on loans against fixed deposits will be calculated using either the coupon rate plus 2 percent or the base rate plus 2 percent, whichever is higher.

Interest rates for consortium loans will be determined according to the consortium’s decision. Loans under the deprived sector category will carry an interest rate of up to the base rate plus 4 percent.

All other loans and advances will carry an interest rate of up to the base rate plus 5 percent.

Fixed-Rate Personal Term Loans

For personal term loans with a tenure of up to seven years, the bank has fixed an annual interest rate of 8.99 percent. Personal term loans with a tenure of more than seven years and up to 10 years will carry a fixed interest rate of 9.49 percent per annum.

Loans with a tenure of more than 10 years will carry a fixed interest rate of 9.99 percent per annum.

Base Rate and Other Conditions

The bank’s average base rate for the last three months stands at 5.52 percent. The interest rate spread for Shrawan 2083 stands at 4 percent.

The bank has also announced an additional 1 percent interest rate on remittance fixed deposits. For loans eligible under green financing products, the premium on the published loan interest rate will be reduced by 0.25 percentage points.

The bank has stated that interest rates and conditions not specifically mentioned in the new structure will be implemented in accordance with the prevailing provisions and regulations of Nepal Rastra Bank.

The new interest rate structure will remain effective from 1st Ashwin 2083, or 17 September 2026.
