Kathmandu. NIC ASIA Bank Limited has released its revised interest rate structure effective from September 17, 2026 (Ashwin 1, 2083).
The new structure covers local and foreign currency deposits, fixed deposits, floating-rate loans, fixed-rate loans and key conditions applicable to various banking products.
Local Currency Savings and Call Deposits
Under local currency savings deposits, Sathi Bachat Khata offers an interest rate of 3.25% per annum. All other local currency savings products offer 2.75% per annum.
The bank has fixed the interest rate on NPR Call Deposits at up to 1.37% per annum.
Local Currency Fixed Deposits
For individual fixed deposits, tenures from 3 months to 2 years earn 2.75% per annum. Deposits for more than 2 years and less than 5 years earn 3.01%, while deposits of 5 years and above earn 4.00% per annum.
For institutional fixed deposits, tenures from 6 months to less than 5 years earn 2.75%, while deposits of 5 years and above earn 3.00% per annum.
Foreign Currency Deposits
For USD products, call deposits offer up to 0.50%, savings deposits offer 1.00%, and fixed deposits of up to one year offer up to 3.50% per annum. For EURO products, call deposits offer up to 0.25%, savings deposits 0.50%, and fixed deposits of up to one year up to 2.00% per annum.
For GBP products, call deposits offer up to 0.25%, savings deposits 0.50%, and fixed deposits of up to one year up to 2.00%. For JPY products, call deposits offer up to 0.05%, savings deposits 0.10%, and fixed deposits of up to one year up to 0.50% per annum.
For AUD products, call deposits offer up to 0.25%, savings deposits 0.50%, and fixed deposits of up to one year up to 2.00% per annum.
Floating-Rate Loans
For private vehicle loans with red number plates, the floating rate for Prime customers ranges from Base Rate + 0.25% to 2.25%, while the Standard category ranges from Base Rate + 1.00% to 3.00%.
Commercial vehicle loans with black number plates carry Base Rate + 1.00% to 3.00%, while Green Plate Auto Loans also carry Base Rate + 1.00% to 3.00%.
Direct Deprived Sector Loan for retail customers and Deprived Sector Loan for wholesale non-qualifying institutions carry Base Rate + 1.00% to 3.00%.
Wholesale qualifying deprived-sector loans carry Base Rate + 0.00% to 2.00%. Home Loans carry Base Rate + 0.00% to 2.00%, while Education Loans and Gold Loans carry Base Rate + 1.00% to 3.00%.
Personal Term Loans secured by real estate collateral carry Base Rate + 1.00% to 3.00%. The same loan under the RRP carries Base Rate + 0.25% to 2.25%.
Loans Against FDR and Share Loan All carry Base Rate + 0.00% to 2.00%. For professional loans, the Prime category carries Base Rate + 0.00% to 2.00%, while the Standard category carries Base Rate + 1.00% to 3.00%.
Easy Business Loan and Small Business Loan both carry Base Rate + 0.00% to 2.00%. Premium Business Loan for Prime customers carries Base Rate + 0.00% to 2.00%, while the Standard category carries Base Rate + 1.00% to 3.00%.
Corporate Loan Prime carries Base Rate + 0.00% to 2.00%, Corporate Loan Standard carries Base Rate + 0.25% to 2.25%, and Other Loans carry Base Rate + 1.00% to 3.00%.
Fixed-Rate Loans
For private vehicle loans with red number plates, both Prime and Standard categories carry a fixed rate of 5.99%. Commercial vehicle loans with black number plates also carry a fixed rate of 5.99%, while Green Plate Auto Loans carry 7.49%.
Direct Deprived Sector Loan for retail customers carries a fixed rate of 9.99%. Wholesale non-qualifying deprived-sector loans carry 8.49%, while wholesale qualifying deprived-sector loans carry 6.49%.
Home Loans and Education Loans carry fixed rates of 6.99%, while Gold Loans carry 7.99%. Personal Term Loans secured by real estate collateral carry 8.49%, while the same loan under RRP carries 7.99%.
Professional Loan Prime carries 9.49%, while Professional Loan Standard carries 9.99%. Easy Business Loan and Small Business Loan both carry 7.99%.
Premium Business Loan Prime carries 7.49%, while the Standard category carries 7.99%. Corporate Loan Prime carries 6.99%, Corporate Loan Standard carries 7.49%, and Other Loans carry a fixed rate of 8.99%.
Key Conditions
Remittance deposits receive an additional 1 percentage point interest rate. Interest rates on Consortium Loans are determined according to the decisions of the consortium.
For floating-rate loans, changes in the Base Rate take effect from the first day of every Nepali calendar month. Subsidized loan products follow the directives issued by Nepal Rastra Bank.
Fixed interest rates are reviewed in accordance with the Nepal Rastra Bank Unified Directives. In addition to the published rates, the minimum rate applicable to loans against fixed deposits is Coupon Rate + up to 2%.
The bank’s Average Base Rate for Shrawan 2083 stands at 5.80%. The bank has stated that other terms and conditions remain unchanged from those published in the previous month.
