Islamabad: Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar has paid tribute to those who lost their lives in the devastating floods and landslides that recently struck Nepal.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Dar visited the Embassy of Nepal in Islamabad today and signed the Condolence Book opened in memory of those who lost their lives in the floods and landslides.
On the occasion, Dar expressed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and said that, in this difficult hour, the Government and people of Pakistan stand with the Government and people of Nepal.
He noted that climate change is having a disproportionately severe impact on countries in the region, with its direct consequences being felt in people’s lives, livelihoods and infrastructure.
Dar prayed for the eternal peace of the souls of those who lost their lives in the floods and landslides, wished the injured a speedy recovery, and prayed for the safety of those who are still missing.
He reaffirmed Pakistan’s continued support for Nepal’s relief and recovery efforts and said that Pakistan is ready to provide all possible assistance to help Nepal overcome the consequences of the natural disaster.
