Kathmandu. Citizens Bank International Limited has organized a strategic seminar in Karnali Province bringing together provincial heads, branch managers and other employees to review performance and discuss strategic growth priorities for the current fiscal year.
The seminar, titled “Overcoming Distance, Delivering Results: Performance and Strategic Growth Review – Karnali Province 2083/84,” was held in the presence of Chief Executive Officer Ganesh Raj Pokharel, Deputy Chief Executive Officer and other senior executives of the bank.
The program focused on reviewing the bank’s performance during the previous fiscal year and discussing the budget, strategic action plans and key priorities for the current fiscal year. The seminar also featured detailed interaction on strengthening coordination and cooperation between the bank’s central office and provincial network.
Citizens Bank currently operates 11 branch offices across all eight districts of Karnali Province.
The bank stated that the Karnali seminar is part of its ongoing province-level strategic review initiative. Earlier, similar programs were organized in Bagmati Province under the theme “Leading from the Front: Strategic Growth Imperatives for Bagmati Province”; in Koshi Province under “Accelerating Commercial Momentum: Business Expansion and Asset Quality Enhancement in Koshi Province”; in Madhesh Province under “Driving High-Volume Growth, Quality Credit, and Market Leadership 083/84”; and in Sudurpaschim Province under “Seminar on Untapped Potential, Unified Action: Budget Achievement and Strategic Growth Review – Sudurpaschim Province (083/84).”
The bank said similar seminars will be organized gradually in other provinces as part of the initiative.
According to the bank, its loan portfolio increased by 1.24 percent during fiscal year 2082/83 to reach Rs 177.33 billion. Deposits also increased by 9.22 percent to Rs 233.81 billion during the same period.
The bank’s net profit increased by 63.05 percent to Rs 2.0986 billion during the last fiscal year.
Citizens Bank has also received the prestigious “Bank of the Year” award for 2024 and 2025.
The bank, in collaboration with Fonepay, has previously launched Nepal’s first “Citizens Fonepay Credit Card,” a virtual credit card.
More recently, the bank introduced the “Citizens Gen-Z Savings Account” targeting young customers and launched an integrated online platform called “Citizens Digi Bank Service.”
The bank has also introduced a new “Freelancer Savings Account” targeting freelancers.
In addition, Citizens Bank has introduced a facility through which customers can apply for shares and obtain a CRN number directly through its mobile banking application. The bank has also introduced a cross-bank teller facility, under which customers of other banks can withdraw cash from Citizens Bank branches by scanning a teller QR code.
Citizens Bank International Limited currently provides modern banking services to more than 2.064 million customers through 200 branches spread across 61 districts, 167 ATMs, three extension counters and 42 branchless banking units across the country.
