China’s Ambassador to Nepal, Chen Song, has assured that China will extend all necessary support to the Government of Nepal for the successful conduct of the upcoming general elections.

Speaking at an interaction program in Kathmandu focused on bilateral cooperation, trade, investment, and the progress of Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) projects, Ambassador Chen said Nepal–China development cooperation is progressing satisfactorily.

He stated that most BRI projects are currently in administrative phases and will soon move into implementation. “There has been notable progress in areas such as trade, investment, and the construction of industrial parks. Some delays are natural,” he said, expressing confidence that a stable government formed after the elections would accelerate project execution.

Ambassador Chen highlighted that China’s newly announced Five-Year Plan prioritizes the development needs of Nepal and neighboring countries. He informed that preparations to export Nepal’s agricultural products to the Chinese market are in their final stages—expected to benefit farmers and industries in both nations.

According to Chen, China places high priority on Nepal’s stability, development, and prosperity. He emphasized that long-term strategic cooperation is essential to accelerate Nepal’s slow-paced development.

He thanked Nepal for consistently supporting the One-China policy, acknowledging Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau as integral parts of China.

Ambassador Chen added that both nations have strong cooperation at international platforms and continue to support a multilateral system centered on the United Nations. He remarked that Nepal–China relations remain “harmonious and stable.”
