Nepal Bank Marks 89 Years with Grand Celebration and Employee Honors

Nepal Bank Limited, the first bank of Nepal, celebrated its 89th anniversary in a grand ceremony. Established on Kartik 30, 1994 B.S., the bank entered its 89th year on Kartik 30, 2082 B.S., marking 88 years of service. The anniversary event was held at the bank’s headquarters premises, chaired by Prof. Dr. Dilliraj Sharma, Chairman of the Bank’s Board of Directors.

Currently, Nepal Bank operates 231 branches, 237 ATMs, and 61 extension counters, serving approximately 2.7 million customers across the country. The bank has made significant improvements in customer service and is offering competitive banking facilities through modern banking technologies. Around 1 million customers have benefited from the bank’s digital banking services.

During the ceremony, three employees with 25 years of uninterrupted service and 53 employees with 20 years of service were awarded medals and certificates of appreciation. Security personnel from Gauradaha and New Baneshwor branches, who contributed significantly despite challenging conditions, were also honored. Additionally, 12 branches with outstanding regional and geographical performance received recognition.

Prof. Dr. Sharma encouraged the staff to advance with stronger motivation, integrity, and dedication in their respective roles. He also reaffirmed the Board of Directors’ continuous support to the bank and its management.
