Kathmandu: Commercial banks operating in Nepal have published their updated interest rates for Ashoj 2083. Most banks have maintained the interest rates applicable in Bhadra, while two banks have reduced their maximum individual fixed deposit rates.
Standard Chartered Bank Nepal and Kumari Bank Limited have lowered their maximum individual fixed deposit rates for Ashoj.
Standard Chartered Bank reduced its maximum rate from 3.80 percent in Bhadra to 3.75 percent in Ashoj. Similarly, Kumari Bank lowered its maximum rate from 3.46 percent to 3.43 percent.
With the latest updates, maximum individual fixed deposit rates offered by commercial banks for Ashoj range from 3.43 percent to 4.55 percent.
17 Banks Maintain Existing Rates
Citizens Bank, Global IME Bank, Machhapuchhre Bank, Nabil Bank, Nepal Bank, NIC Asia Bank, NMB Bank, Prime Commercial Bank, Rastriya Banijya Bank, Nepal SBI Bank, Siddhartha Bank, Prabhu Bank, Himalayan Bank, Sanima Bank, Everest Bank, Laxmi Sunrise Bank and Nepal Investment Mega Bank have maintained their Bhadra interest rates for Ashoj.
The limited changes indicate a broadly stable interest-rate environment among commercial banks for the month.
Prabhu Bank Offers Highest Rate
For Ashoj, Prabhu Bank has set the highest maximum individual fixed deposit rate at 4.55 percent. Machhapuchhre Bank, NMB Bank, Sanima Bank and Nepal Investment Mega Bank have each offered a maximum rate of 4.50 percent.
Similarly, Nabil Bank has set its maximum rate at 4.25 percent, while Nepal Bank and Nepal SBI Bank have fixed their rates at 4.15 percent and 4.10 percent, respectively.
Global IME Bank, NIC Asia Bank, Prime Commercial Bank, Rastriya Banijya Bank, Himalayan Bank and Laxmi Sunrise Bank have each set their maximum individual fixed deposit rates at 4.00 percent.
Meanwhile, Citizens Bank has set its maximum rate at 3.85 percent, Siddhartha Bank at 3.76 percent, Standard Chartered Bank Nepal at 3.75 percent, Everest Bank at 3.50 percent and Kumari Bank at 3.43 percent.
The Ashoj interest-rate updates show that most commercial banks have retained their previous rates, with only a limited number of institutions making minor adjustments to individual fixed deposit rates.
