Kathmandu: Kamana Sewa Bikas Bank Limited (KSBBL) has distributed high-visibility safety jackets to 150 city safari drivers in Urlabari, Morang, as part of its efforts to promote road safety and reduce the risk of road accidents.
The initiative was conducted under the bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) framework in coordination with Urlabari Municipality, the Area Police Office, and the local Traffic Police Office.
A total of 150 city safari drivers involved in daily passenger transportation received safety jackets designed to improve their visibility on roads, particularly during low-light conditions, evening commutes, and periods of heavy traffic.
The distribution program was attended by Urlabari Municipality Mayor Ganga Prasad Kharel, KSBBL Koshi Province Head Khimlal Bhusal, municipal officials, and representatives of local law enforcement agencies.
The safety jackets are intended to make city safari drivers more visible to other motorists and pedestrians, especially in areas with limited lighting and on busy roads. The initiative is expected to help minimize potential accident risks and create a safer road environment for transport workers and other road users.
City safari drivers face various challenges while navigating busy roads and transporting passengers daily. Recognizing the importance of road safety for local transport operators, KSBBL has introduced the initiative to support drivers by providing essential high-visibility safety gear.
By improving drivers’ visibility, the bank aims to contribute not only to the safety of city safari operators but also to the protection of pedestrians and other commuters in the region.
