US Envoy Meets PM Shah, Signals Support for Nepal’s Flood Recovery

Kathmandu: US Acting Ambassador to Nepal Megan Bouldin paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Balendra Shah in Kathmandu on Wednesday, with disaster response, climate risks and economic cooperation among the key issues discussed.

Prime Minister Shah thanked the US government for its solidarity and support following recent disasters. He stressed the need for stronger international cooperation to address climate-related disaster risks.

The two sides also discussed Nepal’s tourism potential and opportunities for greater US investment in the country.

Bouldin expressed condolences over the loss of lives and property caused by floods in Rasuwa, saying the US stands with the people and government of Nepal and is ready to support relief, rehabilitation and reconstruction efforts
