Kathmandu: Argentina superstar Lionel Messi is set to return to the national team for upcoming friendlies, giving fans a chance to see the legendary forward on home soil once again.
The Argentina Football Association says Messi will feature against Benin on October 6, after Argentina’s friendlies against Bolivia and Burkina Faso. The 39-year-old has scored 203 goals in 203 appearances for Argentina and helped the country win the 2021 Copa América, 2022 FIFA World Cup and 2024 Copa América.
Messi is expected to continue his club career with Inter Miami despite stepping away from international football.
