Shangri-la Bank Updates Rates, Remittance Deposit at 3.75%

Kathmandu. Shangri-la Development Bank Limited has published its revised interest rates for deposit and loan products, effective from Ashwin 1, 2083 (September 17, 2026).

The new structure covers current and operating accounts, call deposits, savings schemes, fixed deposits, remittance deposits, individual loans, corporate and project financing, deprived-sector lending and fixed-rate personal loans.

Deposit and Call Account Rates

Loan Operating and Current Accounts with minimum balances ranging from NPR 0 to NPR 5,000 do not earn interest. For Call Deposits, the Co-Ops Call Account requires a minimum balance of NPR 1,000 and offers up to 1.37% per annum, with interest posted quarterly.

The BFI Call Account requires a minimum balance of NPR 5,000 and offers up to 1.37% quarterly. Corporate Call Account and Call Account Others require a minimum balance of NPR 100 each and offer up to 1.37% quarterly.

The Special Call Account requires a minimum balance of NPR 5,000 and offers up to 1.37% per annum, with quarterly interest posting.

Savings Deposit Rates

Staff Saving Account and Normal Saving Account require no minimum balance and provide 2.75% per annum, with interest posted quarterly. Bal Bhabishya Bachat Khata, Pewa Bachat Khata and Shareholder Saving Account require a minimum balance of NPR 100 and offer 2.75% per annum, with quarterly interest posting.

Nari Bachat Khata requires a minimum balance of NPR 100 and offers 2.75%, with interest posted monthly. Jestha Nagarik Bachat Khata requires a minimum balance of NPR 500 and provides 2.75% per annum, with monthly interest posting.

Gurkha Saving Account and Salary Saving Account require a minimum balance of NPR 500 and offer 2.75%, with quarterly interest posting.

Shangri-la Super Premium Bachat, Shangri-la Sambriddhi Bachat Khata, Mero Shangri-la Bachat Khata, Shangri-la Uchhatam Bachat Khata, Micro Finance Saving Account and Buddha Bhumi Bachat Khata require a minimum balance of NPR 5,000 and offer 2.75% per annum.

Among these, Shangri-la Sambriddhi Bachat Khata provides monthly interest posting, while the remaining accounts provide quarterly interest posting.

Bidharthi Bachat Khata, Group Saving-MF Account, Personal Saving-MF Account, Karmachari Sulav Bachat Khata, Samajik Surakchya Bachat Khata and Shangri-La Pay Roll Account have no minimum balance requirement and offer 2.75% per annum. Interest is posted monthly for Shangri-La Pay Roll Account and quarterly for the other accounts.

Swornim Nari Bachat Khata requires a minimum balance of NPR 1,000 and offers 2.75% per annum, with quarterly interest posting. Recurring Account requires a minimum balance of NPR 100 and offers 2.75%, with quarterly interest posting.

Shangrila Naulo Bachat Account requires a minimum balance of NPR 5,000 and provides 2.75%, with monthly interest posting. Shangri-la Green Saving Account requires a minimum balance of NPR 500, while Surakshit Bal Bachat Khata requires NPR 1,000. Both offer 2.75% per annum, with quarterly interest posting.

The Sunaulo Remittance Account requires a minimum balance of NPR 100 and offers 3.75% per annum, with interest posted quarterly.

Fixed Deposit Rates

For individual fixed deposits, deposits from 3 months to 1 year earn 2.75% per annum. Deposits above 1 year to 3 years earn 3.00%, while deposits above 3 years to 5 years earn 3.50%.

Deposits above 5 years earn 4.28% per annum. Interest can be posted monthly, quarterly or at maturity. For remittance fixed deposits, an additional 1 percentage point is added to the applicable individual fixed deposit rate for the corresponding tenure.

For institutional fixed deposits, deposits of 6 months and above earn 2.75% per annum, with interest posted quarterly or at maturity.

Individual Loans

The bank has structured individual loan rates based on the Base Rate plus a Premium Rate.

Personal Overdraft, Easy Term Loan, Home Loan, Hire Purchase Loan, Share/Security Loan, Guarantee Loan, Gold and Silver Loan, Foreign Employment Loan, Education Loan, Private Auto Loan and Personal Demand Loan carry a premium of up to 3.99% over the Base Rate.

Loan Against FDR is priced at Coupon Rate + 3%.

Corporate and Project Financing

Corporate loan products are also priced based on the Base Rate plus a premium. Business Overdraft, Term Loan, Vehicle Loan, SME Overdraft, SME Term Loan, Demand Loan, Agriculture Overdraft and Agriculture Term Loan carry a premium of up to 3.99%.

Industry Overdraft, Industry Term Loan, Energy Overdraft, Energy Term Loan, Tourism Overdraft, Tourism Term Loan, Real Estate Overdraft, Real Estate Term Loan and Bridge Gap Loan also carry a premium of up to 3.99% over the Base Rate.

Deprived Sector Lending

For deprived-sector lending, Deprived-General, Seasonal Loan, Micro Enterprise, Low-Cost Housing, Deprived Loan-Other and Micro Hydro loans carry a premium of up to 4.99%.

Wholesale Lending carries a premium of up to 2%. Interest rates for Consortium Loans will be determined as per agreement. For fixed-rate personal term loans with a tenure of up to 7 years, the fixed interest rate has been set at 10.99% per annum.

Base Rate and Other Conditions

As of the end of Shrawan 2083, Shangri-la Development Bank’s Base Rate stands at 5.51%. The interest rate applicable to loans and advances is calculated based on the Average Base Rate plus the applicable Premium Rate.

The bank has also provided a concession for certain borrowers under deprived-sector lending. For deprived-sector loans provided to senior citizens, Dalit communities, former Kamaiya, Badi, Haliya, war victims, single women and persons with disabilities, an interest rate 1 percentage point lower than the published rate will apply.
