Rastriya Banijya Bank Limited celebrated its 61st anniversary with a grand ceremony, attended by Hon. Finance Minister Rameshwar Prasad Khanal as the chief guest.
Minister Khanal emphasized understanding borrowers’ psychology, profiling for credit, and promoting digital transactions. He noted that moving from collateral-based to credit-score-based lending can better support entrepreneurship and income generation.
On the occasion, Minister Khanal unveiled the bank’s special commemorative publication “Smarika Upahar 2082” and digitally inaugurated 12 new branch offices launched this year. He also launched the bank’s new product, RBB Phone Loan.
Employees completing 20 years of service were honored with long-service medals. Dev Kumar Dhakal, Chairman of the bank’s Board, highlighted the bank’s role in prioritizing productive sectors and contributing to national economic growth through expanded banking services.
CEO Devendra Raman Khanal discussed the bank’s current status, plans, and its role as the economic backbone of society, emphasizing commitment to technology-driven and digital banking services. He noted that RBB was recognized for highest QR merchant transactions and most digital government transactions in FY 2080/81.
Representatives from employee unions extended their best wishes and shared perspectives on employee welfare and the bank’s future initiatives.
